Stock on Roads.
jtjTOCK tvandering on motor roads at night is giving the Automobile Association, Wellington, a great deal of concern. A report of the roads committee to the executive of the association read as follows:—“Previous efforts to get the local authorities to deal with this question in an effective way have not been very successful. Unfortunately, the difficulty is net confined to our own district, although there are one or two sections of road in it where wandering stock creates a real menace.” Instances of accidents ow’ing to tile wandering of stock at night w'ere given. The N.I.M.U. was considering the matter, it was stated, but one of the difficulties was to get the local authorities to act against their own ratepayers.
