Mr F. H. Dephoff presided at a meeting of the Opawa-Hillsborough Burgesses' Association held in the Opawa School last evening. A reply regarding a petition signed by eight residents of Reeves Road asking that the footpath be asphalted was received from the Town Clerk, who stated that the Works Committee of the City Council would arrange for the work to be carried cut provided that the residents in the street were prepared to pay 6d per lineal foot of frontage. It was decided to advise the petitioners of the contents of the letter in order that they might be able to take further action. The Chief Postmaster wrote stating that the association's suggestion for the acquisition of a section of land at Opawa by the Post and Telegraph Department as a site for a future post office building had been duly referred to the head office and noted. The chairman undertook to interview the Chief Postmaster regarding the matter.

A letter was received from the Woolston Ratepayers’ Association stating that the boundaries outlined by the Opawa-Hillsborough association were not acceptable tc it, owing to the fact that a very large part of Woo Is ton had been included in Opawa territory. It was decided to refer the letter back to the Woolston association, asking that the suggested boundaries should be enumerated on a map.
