BRIGHTON BAND OF HOPE
The fortnightly meeting of the North Brighton Band of Hope was held in the Baptist Church, the Rev E. W. Grigg' presiding. The president welcomed Mr Clark (president of the Band of Hope Union), several members of the union and W.C.T.U. members from Riccarton and Lin wood. Mrs A. Noonan led community singing. Mrs Teague, a member of the Sydenham Band of Hope Committee, and Mr Clark gave addresses. The following contributed items:—Lexie Tat'lor, June Smith, Lorna Smith, Betty Sands, Ruth Toner and Philip Lawson; songs, Joyce Lawson, Nellie Brey, Joan Carr and Betty Walls. Mesdames Taylor and Scott were appointed to arrange the programme for next meeting. Mrs Lawson served supper to the visitors.
