CONCERT AT RICCARTON.
A concert was held on Monday evening- in St Peter’s Parish Hall, Upper Riccarton, in aid of the funds of the Board of Missions and the Church Army Mission. The hall was filled to capacity. The first half of the programme, arranged bv Miss V. Gardner, included the following items:—Dance duo. Misses Freda Manhire and Norma Smith song, Miss Estelle Long; piano solo. Miss Shona Allott; dance. Miss Nancy Manhire; recitation, Mr David Turnbull: playette, ” The Old Bull.” junior Bible class; recitations. Master W. E. Williams and Eleanor Pitt: Irish jig. Miss May Palmer: dance, Audrey M'Nlsh: recitation, Miss Norma Smith; missionary item. Sunday school children. The second half of the programme, which was arranged by Captain Pearce, assisted by friends, was comprised of extracts from the Church Army Pageant, which were staged for the first time in New Zealand. The Rev 11. T. York thanked the performers and organisers for the excellent concert.
