ANNUAL DANCE
Tennis Clubs Combine in Successful Bali. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. Organised by an energetic committee comprising representatives of the various tennis clubs the combined Canterbury lawn tennis clubs’ fourth annual dance was held at the Winter Garden last night. A feature of the evening was the presentation of shields by Mr J. Mercer, chairman of the competitions committee, as follows:—Senior shield. Canterbury College; Chapman Shield. A grade. Cathedral; B grade, Opawa ; C grade, Shirley; D. Grade, St Mary’s; ladies’ mid-week, Elmwood. The Bailey-Marston orchestra supplied the music and guests were entertained with exhibition dances by Mr Robert Tonge. Those present included:—Mesdames J. L. Squire, E. Parish, A.
