Board of Governors Meet.
The Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College met this morning, present being Dr H. G. Denham (chairman), the Hon D. Buddo. M.D.C., Messrs E. J. Howard, M.P., H. S. S, Kyle, M.P., C. H. Hewlett, W. A. Banks, H. A. Knight, N. M. Orbell, John Deans, and Professor H. E. Alexander (Director).
The farm report stated that the past month had been marked by unusually wet and cold weather. There was still a good supply of feed, and young grass had clone well, although it had been difficult to feed off owing to wet conditions. Team work had been held tip for •some time, and it had been possible to sow only three fields In Algerians and one and a-half In wheat. Carting and spreading shingle, carting seed wheat, cutting chaff, erecting new fences, repairing fences, and gorse cutting had occupied the time of the farm hands for the month.
The Woolbrokers* Association wrote enclosing a donation of £35 toward work in connection with ewe and lamb mortality.
The director reported that the short course for farmers would commence on June 26. There were more than the requisite number of applications, which had been received from as far north as Gisborne and as far south as Invercargill.
