Bronze Bust Executed byMr F. A. Shurrock.
The Royal Academy has accepted for its exhibition a portrait bust in bronze executed by Mr F. A. Shurrock, A.R.C.A., of the staff of the Canterbury College School of Art. The bust is of Mr Edward Armstrong, architect for the Robert McDougall Art Gallery. The plaster model of the bust was sent to England by Mr Shurrock some time ago. He intended to have the bronze sent back to New Zealand at once, but after the work had been done, Mr Shurrock decided to have it carried right through. He gave instructions to his agent in England, who intimated that he would probably exhibit the bust before sending it to New Zealand.
Mr Shurrock was greatly surprised when, during the week-end, he received his exhibitor’s ticket for the Royal Academy.
