Successful Clothes Drive

for Relief. (Special to the ** fftar.”) ASHBURTON, May 20. A large number of articles of clothing were collected as a result of the clothes drive carried out by the Ashburton Ministers' Association on Saturday. Girl Guides, Boy Scouts and senior Sunday School pupils assisted in the drive, which was in aid of the Relief of Distress Fund. Reopening of Schools. The primarv schools in the Ashburton County will reopen after the term holidays on Tuesday. Since the closing of the schools there has been a good deal of sickness amongst children, but the extent will not be known until the schools reopen and the roll is called. Children’s Court. On a charge of removing letters and a parcel from private letter-boxes at the entrance to dwellings, a boy appeared before Mr R. Clark, J.P., at the Children’s Court on Saturday. Fie was admonished and the case was adjourned for six months, restitution being ordered. Weekly Health Report. There were no notifications of infectious cases in the county during the week, but one case of sepsis was reported to the borough health inspector.
