Boy Suffers Severe Abrasions. (Special to the" Star." r ASH BURT ON, May 20. Colin Guthrie, aged nine years, the son of Mr A. Guthrie, East Street, Ashburton, was admitted to the County Hospital on Saturday in a semi-con-scious condition and suffering from severe abrasions. The boy was c> r cling on the Main South Road near Fairfield with his brother when he fell heavily on to the bitumen surface. His condition too-night was reported to be satisfactory. Youth Badly Hurt. (Special to the “ Star.”) GREYMOUTH, May 20. Knocked down by a motorist on Saturday night, James Carruthers, # fifteen years of age, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs Carruthers, of High Street, Greymouth, suffered severe head injuries and was admitted to the Grey River Hospital in an unconscious condition. He is an employee of the Post and Telegraph Department. The accident occurred at the corner of Puketahi and Tainui Streets. The road was wet at the time and visibility was bad. The youth was riding a cycle when he was struck. Child Killed Instantly. Per Press A ssoola t ton. PALMERSTON N., May 20. Rushing out to greet his uncle, who had just arrived in a car, Seymour Redwayne, the four-vear-old son of Mr R. V. Redwavne, farmer. Sanson, bumped into the rear mudguard as the driver was bacfing into the garage and died instantly, supposedly from a broken neck. Fell Off Cycle. Claydon Hart, aged sixteen, of 234, Barbadoes Street, fell off his cycle on Saturday night and sustained head injuries and concussion. He was taken to the Christchurch Hospital by the St John Ambulance. His condition last night was satisfactory.
