COUNCIL WORKS.
Report on Administrative Costs. A report on the growth of the administrative costs of the Works Department of the Christchurch City Council has been prepared by Messrs W. H. Winsor and G. R. Hunter, two ex-chairmen of the Works Committee, in response to a request from the Finance Committee of the council. The action was taken by the Finance Committee as a result of criticism of the administration of the Works Department, and Messrs Winsor and Hunter were asked to investigate the position from the point of view of the public. The report has been received by the council but has not yet been dealt with by the Finance Committee.
