PLEA REJECTED.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 4. Rejecting the husband’s plea that his wife was a good woman and that drink was the cause of all her trouble, Mr E. Page, S.M., to-day sent Annie Dean, thirty-eight years of age, to prison for four months for shoplifting from the drapery shop of James Smith. She had a list of previous convictions.
