MORE APPEALS.

Tramwaymen Dispute New Grading System. Nineteen tramwaymen have given instructions for appeals to be lodged against their grading by the Christ, church Tramway Board. The appeals nave the support of the Christchurch 1 ramwaymen’s Union. The appellants are men who went on strike and were reinstated. Their complaint is that they have been placed in positions junior to men who joined he service at the time of the strike, but who did not obtain their motormen s tickets until a date subsequent tickets* ° n t * le a PP e * la nts secured It was explained to-day that the men were reinstated in the service alter the new men had joined. However on being reinstated they then held motor mens tickets, whereas the new men who joined at the time of the strike were not then holding motormen’s tickets.
