“ The Arthur’s Pass locality is steadily becoming more popular as a holiday resort,” stated the annual report presented to the Arthur’s Pass National Park Board yesterday. “ The board has still, unfortunately, failed to impress the Railway Department with the merits of its request that a small surcharge should be made on excursion tickets to enable the board to improve the facilities available to patrons of the excursions.” The report stated that the Railway Department had run seven excursions and carried 1478 passengers.
