Regulation of Imports.
Dear Sir,—The cabled message published in the “ Star ” that the British Reorganisation Commission for Fat Stock has recommended the regulation of imports of meat gives point to the broadcast advice of Mr Shaw that. New Zealand must develop what may be termed an economic nationalism. What price the future of our chilled beel industry now? It would seem that Great Britain is waiving up. Not for much longer will she be a dumping ground for the world’s produce. It behoves New Zealand to make an early attempt at putting her house in order. Ireland has shown us the way, economically. mean, not in disloyalties.—l am, etc, WAKE UP.
