SWIMMING.

Empire Games Nominees in Good Form. Per Association. AUCKLAND, April 17. The large number of New Zealand swimming records broken or equalled in Auckland this season were increased to-night by the two Auckland nominees for the Empire Games, N. Crump and R. Frankham. In an unpaced attack on Crump’s 100 yards record, Franltham covered the distance in 55 l-ssec, equalling the record. Soon afterwards Crump showed that he must still be regarded as the fastest sprinter in the Dominion by winning the championship of his club in 55sec. Crump established a listed record when he won the Auckland championship on February 6, but on March 28 he was timed at 54 4-ssec for 100 yards in the course of a 100 metres sprint for which he put up the best time made by an Australian or New Zealand swimmer. He has also swum the 220 yards and 400 metres in the record times of 2min 22sec and smi n 11 4-ssec.
