CYCLING.

Constitution of N.Z. Body Discussed.

Several clauses of the proposed constitution of the New Zealand Amateur cycling Association were discussed at a special meeting of the Canterbury Amateur Cycling Centre held in the Trades Hall last night, and it was decided to forward amendments to the association in Wellington. Mr C. N. Hamilton presided. There were also present Messrs J. Blick, G R. Giles, O. Alford, C. Hill, C. D. Doyle, T. A. Grose, A. C. Hands, S. Forrester, •L Fahey, H. G. Kilpatrick and F. Knipe (honorary secretary). The centre was opposed to giving the association power of veto in several matters, and many of the remits passed simply removed from the clauses of the constitution the word "association” and substituted "delegates.” The centre was of the opinion that the power should be in the hands of the annual conference of delegates. Other amendments proposed were that the affiliation for each club should be one guinea, instead of being left to the will of the association in Wellington; and that every club should hold its annual meeting in September to be followed by the annual meeting of the centre in October.
