Very Firm Sale for Fat Lambs. BEEF VALUES DECLINE. A fat lamb yarding of patchy quality met a very firm market at the Addington stock sale to-day. The market was a double one, owing to Arzac Day falling next Wednesday. Fat lamb values were firm at round about <>d per lb for prime light-weights. The store lamb entry was small and the quality generally poor, with values unchanged. A very heavy yarding of beef saw prices recede over the earlier part of the sale. Pat Lamb 3. Quality was patchy in the fairly large yarding of fat lambs, and butchers l'OL»ncl difficulty in filling their requirements with lambs up to trade standard. The yarding of store lambs was a small one, and comprised a very indifferent selection, most of the pens containing tail-end lots. A good deal ot interest was shown in the sale, and the market, after making due allowance for the poor quality, showed little change. A’alues were:— Medium ewe lambs, 16s to 17s 4d. Plain ewe lambs, 14s to 15s 4d. Inferior ewe lambs to 12s 6d. Forward store lambs, 17s to ISs J od. Ordinary store lambs, 15s to 16s lid. Inferior and plain store lambs. 9s 6d to? 14s lOd. Store Sheep. There was again a fair-sized yarding of store sheep, and it included much inferior stuff. Over the early stages of the sale the offering was confined mostly to rough and aged sheep penned in small lots. They changed hands without much trouble. The few good sheep offered early sold very well, one line of ordinary twot.ooth Romneys making 325, and Corriedales selling to 32s 6d. Pat Cattle. There was a very big yarding of fat cattle, which included a fair proportion of good stuff. The sale over the earlv stages was hard, with a decline all round.
