MINISTER WELCOMED.

A warm welcome was extended last evening to the Rev and Mrs J. Draper by the congregation of the Linwood Methodist Church at a social evening in the Sunday School Hall. There was a large attendance, over which Mr C. W. Francis presided. Friendly greetings were extended by the Rev A. M’Neur (St George's Presbyterian) and the Rev N. Wood (Linwood Baptist). and by the Rev E. Drake (Wesley Church and Christchurch East Circuit), Miss Ruth Stokes (Girls’ Bible Classes and Young People), Mrs C. W. Francis (Ladies’ Guild), Mr Harry Arnold (Boys’ Bible Classes) and Mr C. W. ‘Francis (officials and congregation). The speeches were interspersed with items, as follows: Pianoforte duet, Mrs Hodgson and Miss V. Gimblett; pianoforte solo. Miss V. Gimblett; vocal solos, Mrs Pearce and Miss Molly Tait; humorous recitation, Mrs Windsor.
