N.Z. Pilot Wants to Compete in Air Race. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April IS. Hopes that the money required to enable him to compete in the MacRobertson Centenary Air Race as a representative of New Zealand would be forthcoming are entertained by Squadron-Leader J. D. Hewett. Squadron-Leader Hewett, who arrived from Auckland yesterday, admitted that he was “ very keen on entering the race.” lie said he had been approached by an Auckland syndicate and asked to nominate his own team. He was to have met the members yesterday, but had had to fly a passenger to Wellington.
