Christchurch Centre Meeting. EASTER TOURNEY PROFITS. The Christchurch Bow ling Centre met last evening, the president (Mr F D Muirson) in the chair. There was an attendance of thirty delegates. The chairman reported that the secretary and himself had interviewed Mr M. r* Barnett, donor of the Barnett Tiki, regarding the conditions of the match with Wellington. Mr Barnett suggested that the Wellington Centra be permitted to play the same team in the morning and the afternoon, and the Christchurch centre to have the option of playing different teams. It was decided to adopt this suggestion, and to advise the Wellington, Centre accordingly. A motion expressing appreciation of the manner in which the secretary (Mr H. B. Oakey) carried out his duties during the Easter tournament was carried by acclamation. Mr R. G. Morrison submitted the following remit for discussion at the annual meeting of the Dominion Council: ’ That the Dominion pairs competition be played oo the two-life system, similar to that of the singles competition, and that the playing of four bowls per man be reverted to.” A discussion took place on the question of playing substitutes in Watson Shield matches, and a proposal by Mr S. F. Barnett, the delegate from the Christchurch Club, that only challenging teams, authorised by the club to which they belong, be permitted, to take part in the competition, was agreed to. Appointment of Tester. Mr E. A. Rogers, a member of the United Bowling Club, has been appointed by the Christchurch Bowling Centre to the position of official bowl tester. The appointment of Mr Rogers was recommended by the Bowl Testing Committee at last evening’s meeting of the centre. It was reported that Mr Rogers was the only applicant for the position, and the committee was satisfied that he had every qualification for the work. The United green was available for testing the bowls, and the plant could be housed there. Mr H. J. Ranger, the delegate from the United Club, moved that Mr Rogers be appointed. He said that Mr Rogers was late manager of the Addington Railway Workshops, and was a capable mechanic. The motion was seconded by Mr T. G. Fox and carried unanimously. Edgeware Club. The closing of the season of the Edgewary .Bowling and Croquet Club took place in the presence of a good attendance of members of both sections. The vice-president (Mr A. Chid gey) expressed his pleasure at the successful nature of the club's operations.
