Changes in the Bible.
Dear Sir,—l notice that the General Synod in Hastings tarried a motion that the Apocrypha be more generally included in various editions of the Bible. Can you tell me what the Apocrypha is and why it is not included in the Authorised Version?—l am, etc., SEEKER.
The Apocrypha is a collection of fourteen books included in the Septuagint and Vulgate versions, but not in the Canonical Hebrew Scriptures. It is generally rejected by the Protestant churches as being of dubious authority.—Ed., “ Star.”
