AMATEUR BOXING.

For the amateur novice tournament lo be staged bv the Christchurch Sports Club at the Caledonian Hall to-morrow evening, the Match Committee has been fortunate in having some very promising material to work upon, with the result that every contest should be productive of keen and clever l*oxing. with thrills a-plenty. Novice tournaments are always popular with the fans owing to the keenness and determination witli which they are entered into by the lads, and judging by the calibre of those who will be seen in the ring to-morrow night there should be no exception to the general rule. Seven classes are t/> be contested, and the entries for each are very satisfactory. The referees will be Messrs J. D. Hutchison and H. O. Jefcoate, the judges Messrs W. E. Mouldey. B. Rennell, A. F. Stacey and G. Annand. Doors will open at 7.30. and the first Ivjut commences at eight o’clock sharp. With the nominal admission charges there sivould be a capacity house.
