MOTOR-CYCLING.

Reliability Trial at Ashburton. (Special to the “Star.”) ~ ASHBURTON, April 15. The weather was fine but dull and cold for the Ashburton Motor-cycle Club’s eight-hour reliability trial, held during the week-end. The course, which covered the greater part of the county, was fairly severe, but all the machines stood 1 the test well. The distance covered was seventy-three miles in the morning run and fifty-six in the afternoon, making a total of 129 miles. The winner was T. Pickford, who was allotted 990 points out of a total of 1000. There were sixteen entries, and twelve riders took part in the trial. The only mishap was a fall by .1. Johansen at a bend near Rakaia He suffered face abrasions and slight concussion. but after attention by Dr Bagley (Rakaia) was able to proceed to Ashburton. Results:— T. Pickford (8.5.
