CRICKET BAT.

Has Now Won £3885 in His 75 Starts. PLACED IN 34 RACES. Cricket Bat, who is at present enjoying a well-earned holiday in a paddock at Stonyhurst, has had a busy time since he began racing. In all, he has started 75 times for 12 wins, 15 seconds, and 7 thirds. He has been unplaced 39 times, and in prizemoney he has earned £3885. A fine galloper on the tracks, he har been disapopinting at times in public, vet his record includes a number of first-class performances. Included in his list of wins are the C.J.C. Challenge Stakes, Dunedin Guineas, *■ James Hazlett Gold Cup. North Island Challenge Stakes, Publicans’ Handicap at Wingatui and Wellington Handicap at Trentham. His minor placings include two seconds in both the Thompson at Trentham and the C.J.C. Great Easter. He has won over distances from six furlongs to eleven furlongs. He would probably get a further distance if he would allow his rider full control. Provided that his spell proves as beneficial as may be expected, he should improve his record next season, when he will be a six-year-old. His placed performances are as follows: — At Two Years.
