Meeting of New Zealand Council. CHAMPIONSHIP DATES. (Special to the “ Star.”) ' WELLINGTON, April 14. At the monthly meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Golf Association three new clubs, all in the North Island, were granted affiliation. In regard to the 1934 championship meeting, a letter was received from the Wanganui Golf Club regarding the proposed dates. It was resolved to suggest to Wanganui that the starting date should be now altered to October 5 instead of October 12, and the secretary was directed to bring before the next meeting all matters of detail which will have to be settled. As there have been not enough inquiries from clubs to warrant the appointment of travelling professionals for six months, it was resolved to ask three professionals who have apnlien (and have bfeen well recommended) if they will take on tours of clubs as required, without fixed appointments. A special meeting held on April 11, and attended by Dr P. Sydney Jones, representing the New South Wales Golf Council, passed certain resolutions regarding the future control of the KirkWindeyer Cup competitions, and these have been embodied in letters to the New South Wales Council and to Mr Windeyer. coming tournaments advised to the association are as follows: Avondale Golf Club (Christchurch), open tournament, April 28; Hanmer Springs Golf Club, annual contest for M. C. Simes Memorial Challenge Cup, May 4 and 5; Timaru Golf Club, South Canterbury amateur championship tournament, June 4; Rotorua Golf Club. Rotorua open amateur championship and handicap tournament, August 21, 22, 23 and 24* Rotorua Golf Club, annual contest Cor New Zealand Veterans* Cup and tournament on handicap (age Urn]t fifty-five), August 28, 29, 30, and 31.
