The Canterbury pair lacked combination on account of it being their first game together, but, nevermeless; they produced a good standard of doubles play. The Oamaru pair were right on their game, and, after a close contest, honours went to Gallagher and Feathers. The local pair took the first set, but Dymond and Cant reversed the decision in the next. In the Hnai set , the visitors were outclassed, North Otago taking the set, The unfinished ladies’ singles were completed. Miss Wake defeating Miss Baikie, and Miss Poole securing a win over Miss Romans. Miss Romans, playing Miss Poole, had taken the first set 6-5 the previous day, but in the second she did not do so well, Miss Poole winning 6-3. The final was very exciting, and Miss Romans, playing at her best, took the lead to 5-2, but Miss Poole rallied and, playing confidently, won the seat 6-5.
