POULTRY AND EGGS.
Messrs Macfarlane and Co. report the following prices for eggs:—First grade up to is lOid a dozen, second grade Is Sid to Is 9d, duck' eggs up to Is 9d. Red Comb Egg and Poultry Co. The Red Comb Egg and Poultry Co. report that on Saturday and Wednesday full pennings were received, and I the whole of the birds offered sold at satisfactory prices. On Wednesday consignments of heavy breed chicken in prime condition realised Is per pair above late rates. Heavy breed boilers in good condition are short of requirements. The average prices per pair were:— Roasting chicken, light to 4s 3d, medium to 6s 3d, heavv to 9s 9d; hens, boilers, light to 4s, yearling White Leghorns to 5s 3d. heavy to 6s 6d; duckling, light to 4s 6d. heavy to 6s 9d; gosling, prime to 7s; turkeys, young, lOd to Is per lb live weight. Eggs—“ Red Comb” brand, machine graded, tested, guaranteed fresh, first grade Is 7d, second Is 4d per dozen.
