Women’s Organisations Meet. The monthly meeting , of St Ninian’s Ladies’ Guild, Riccarton, was held on Tuesday in the guild room. There was a good attendance, Mrs W. Edginton presiding. Garments were finished and arrangements finalised for the forthcoming fair to be held to assist the renovation funds. Gifts of garments and clothes have been sent to the orphanages and a parcel has been sent to the Helping Hand Relief Depot. Two members of the guild provided afternoon tea. W.C.T.TJ. Members Meet. The monthly meeting of the Riccarton W.C.T TJ. was held on Thursday afternoon, Mrs C. AV. Barrell presiding over a large attendance. Mrs H. Ryan led the devotional exercises. A temperance fact was given by the president, who welcomed members of the Sydenham Union. Mesdames R. Gundy and G. AVhite were appointed helpers for the next Band of Hope meeting. Arrangements were put in hand for Mrs Low’s visit in connection with the peace meeting on May 10. At this meeting members of the Sydenham and Riccarton Unions will act as hostesses, and all members of women’s organisations in the district have been invited to attend. A bring and buy sale was held and friends from the Sydenham Union supplied much appreciated musical items as follows: Vocal duet, Mesdames AVeatherhead and Filer; vocal solo. Mrs Green way; recitation, Mrs Hutton. It was reported that Riccarton Y’s and Band of Hope had each won a banner for increased membership in their unions. Mesdames Watt and Walton served afternoon tea, after which Mrs White gave .a full and interesting report of the recent Dominion Convention. St Peter’s Mothers’ Union. The annual meeting of the St Peter’s Upper Riccarton Mothers’ Union was held on Thursday afternoon. A service of the renewal of vows was conducted in the church by the president. Mrs H. T. York, and the meeting was held later in the Parish Hall. The annual report and balance-sheet presented by Miss Budge, the secretary, revealed a satisfactory state of affairs with a credit balance of £2. Mrs H. T. York was re-elected president for the ensuing year, and Miss A. Budge honorary secretary and treasurer. The hostesses at afternoon tea were Mesdames J. 11. Davies, LI. Conway. J. Williams and C. Hunt.
