REFUSES ESTATE.
Nephew of Lord Novar Stays U.S. Citizen. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. _ . LONDON, April 11. It is reported from Washington that Mt R. Munro-Ferguson has refused to accept the Scottish estate of his uncle, the late Y iscount Novar, because a clause in the will necessitates his giving up his United States citizenship. BURIAL OF LORD NOVAR. LONDON, April 4. A kilted piper, playing not a lament but a spirited Highland march, paced on the balcony outside the drawingroom of Raith House, Kirkcaldy, where Lord Novar, former Governor-General Australia, had lain in state since March 31, when the obsequies began. The coffin was covered with a Union Jack, surmounted by the insignia of the Order of the of which Lord Novar was a Knight. The Earl of Mar and Kellie represented the King. Mr M’Laren, Acting High Commissioner in London, represented the Commonwealth. Among the wreaths were tributes from the Government and people of Australia. The service was conducted by, the Rev J. M. Hunter, of Abbotshall Church, of which Lord Novar was for many years an elder. The large assembly included several Scottish peers and Sir Henry Galway, who was Governor of South Australia from 1914 to 1920. in which period Lord Novar was Governor-General. To-day the coffin is to be conveved in a farm cart to the Kirkcaldy station, and thence by train to Edinburgh, where the body will be cremated.
