TWO GOOD PICTURES.

“ The Little Giant ” and Buck Jones Western. “ Man Against Woman ” and “ Twofisted Law ” will be shown finally tomorrow night at the St James Theatre. Two good pictures, “ The Little Giant,” staring Edward G. Robinson, and “Sundown Rider” (Buck Jones) will comprise the new double-feature programme at the St James Theatre on Saturday. In “ The Little Giant ” Edward G. Robinson excels his previous efforts at mirth-making by appearing as an ex-beer baron of Chicago, whose role desire apparently is to penetrate into exclusive social circles. There is any amount of fun to be derived from the hilarious situations which constantly arise. The entire paraphernalia of a gangster’s arsenal figures in the picture, and the whole underworld seem? to be marshalled on the scene, and yet. although there are many exciting and thrilling incidents, not a shot is fired and no violence of any kind is attempted. How the crude racketeer succeeds in his attempt to move in exclusive circles must be seen to be appreciated fully. Mary Astor has a leading feminine role in this picture, and support is accorded by many other wellknown screen artists.

Packed with plentv of excitement, su-pense and plot, “ Sundown Rider ” presents Buck Tones in a characterisation of a vonth who never forgets to repav an inuirv or a kindness. The wonderful white horse. Silver King, who always apnearc in his nictures. has a prominent role in “ Sundown Rider.” helping Buck to win a race against the sun, and get to the bank in time to save hi*:: girl’s ranch. Barbara Weeks, cne of the prettiest girls who ever inspired brave youth to rr**eat deeds, is the heroine. Box plans at the D.I.C.
