The Butter Market.

Dear Sir,—With reference to “ Wellwisher’s ” remarks, may I add a little further information? Papers which are sent me have contained advertisements by grocers where the price of margarine was Sid per lb and New Zealand butter 8d per lb, both in the same shop. There must be some reason for this, and it certainly gives one to think very hard. It is only of recent date that New Zealand butter was procurable in the North of England and Scotland, and this was due, without a doubt, to bad marketing methods. ,Knowing the methods employed by the Danes to ensure the sale of their products, I can only say that this country has a lot to learn from them. They have had the British market for years and look like holding it because, when the depression struck them, they adjusted their internal affairs first and then set out to increase their markets overseas by practicable methods. The people of this country must realise that there is little sentiment in business, and if you do net give vour customers what they - want and when they want it, othe'rs get the benefit.- I am. etc., WAKEN UP.
