Architectural Detail.
Dear Sir. —Without question, Bowron s Buildings, at the corner of Hereford and Manchester Streets, referred to in your columns, has become a handsome building and is a credit to the supervisor and architect. as well as a valuable addition to tha city. But to my mind the effect is spoilt by a detail. Why has the flagpole on the corner been left a weathered relic of the past? • Might I suggest that the pole be painted to correspond with the handsome white front, and that the black chimney stacks be also painted a suitable colour. — I am, etc., DETAIL.
