PARISHIONERS MEET.
St Stephen’s Church, Shirley. The Rev J. R. Harvey, vicar of St Stephen's, Shirley, presided over the annual meeting of parishioners. The vicar’s warden, Mr R. R. Sword, stated that, in view of the present financial stringency, the parish accounts could be considered as very satisfactory. lie paid a warm tribute to the ministry of the vicar, and to the work of Mrs Hervey in the parish. The reactfvitv*" year revealed much useful The vicar reappointed Mr B. R. Sword as his warden. In doing so, he expressed the pleasure he had experienced in working with so keen and reliable a helper. Mr F. W. Woodward, who was unavoidably absent, was re-elected people’s warden. The vestry elected consisted of the following: Messrs H C Woodward. Cowleson, Daw’, Tunnicliffe, C. W. Hervey and Hatch. On the suggestion of Mrs Hervey, a motion, that a ladies’ committee be formed, was agreed to. The following were elected. Booker, Hervev Walsh, Graham, Burr, Marsa, Philpott! Lyttle and Law and Miss Ealem. Items were rendered by Miss L. Robertson (violin) and Mrs Rice (songs). The evening closed with supper.
