CARNIVAL DANCE.
Whippet Club’s Function at Riccarton. The carnival dance held under the auspices of the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club on Saturday evening in the Riccarton Racecourse Pavilion concluded a successful Derby Day and New Zealand whippet sports meeting. The following energetic committee were responsible for the arrangements: Mesdames George Bilcliff (secretary) and L. Coxon, Messrs G. Bilcliff, A. F. Goddard, L. Radbum, J. Smith and L. Coxon. Mr L. Coxon was master of ceremonies. The New orchestra supplied the music. The ballroom decorations were effectively carried out in pink, blue and lemon shades, and autumn flowers and foliage.
