FLOURISHING “ QUACKS.”
High and Low Seek Their Advice. LONDON, April 3. Sir Cuthbert Wallace, consulting surgeon to St Thomas’s Hospital, declared in an address that quack doctors are as flourishing as ever and that high and low seek their advice. Sir Cuthbert was delivering the Hunterian oration before the Ro\ r al College of Surgeons. In some instances, he said, the quacks had copied the doctor and had established a curriculum and a register. It was apparently impossible to persuade the public that the doctor was disinterested in his attitude toward irregular practice.
