VETERAN CRICKETER.
H. E. Lawrence Averages 40.42 Runs. H. E. Lawrence, the oldest playing member of the Veterans’ Cricket Club, scored a total of 566 runs during the past season. His average was 40.42 runs for each innings. In thirty-two excursions to the wickets, he was ot out twelve times an enviable achievement for any cricketer. Lawrence made only five single scores—four “ ducks ” and a single run; all the others were double figure scores. His consistency was remarkable, as his figures for the season show. His individual scores were: 51, 31, 31, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, and 13 not out; 36, 28, 26, 26, 23, 22, 15, 12, 11, 1 and four o’s.
