"Y”ESTERDAY, according to a gimleteyed correspondent, the “ Star ” fell into the error of reporting the statement of a police officer that when the driver “ returned to his car he found that it had disappeared.” Well, well, accidents will happen in the best regulated families. There was just enough propaganda in Mr Shaw’s reply to a stupid interjection yesterday to make his audience laugh after a ponderous interval. “You have to do what you are told on Sundays,” said the interjector. “ But you are not told anything on Sundays,” replied the iconoclast. The reply recalls the story of the man who addressed a meeting at great length. “How long did he speak?” one who had attended the meeting was asked. “ Forty minutes,” was the reply. “ What did he talk about?” asked the querist. “He didn’t say,” was the answer.
