A LONDON PAPER states that the first performance of Mr Bernard Shaw’s new one-act play, “ Village Wooing,” is to be given at Tunbridge Wells by the Wells Repertory Players, an amateur company, in their first season. Mr Christopher Fry, director of the company, wrote to Mr Shaw before he left for New Zealand, saying that it would make a tremendous difference if they could be the first to stage “ Village Wooing.” ‘‘Bv all means do so,” replied Mr Shaw, and sent him an advance copy of the play.
