SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
Nominations for Positions Closed. Nominations for the committees of ali Canterbury schools which ha<7 an average attendance of more than 240 pupils last year closed with the chairmen of the outgoing committees last night. Schools which’ had an attendance of under that number will have the committees elected from persons at the householders’ meetings next Monday night, when all committees will be elected. Committees elected this year will hold office for two years, instead of one year as previously. This is a result of the amending legislation passed last session. Nominations for the Shirley and West Christchurch Intermediate Schools Committees do not close until April 23, and the housholders’ meetings will be held on April 30.
