K. C. James Leaving for England. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 9. Having accepted an offer of a business engagement in England K. C. James, the well-known Wellington and New Z'eaiand cricket representative, will leave Wellington on Friday by the Rangitane for London. There will be genuine regret at the loss of another of New Zealand’s leading cricketers. The move will give him employment which lie has been unable to secure in his profession in New Zealand and in which lie will pursue his studies. James does not go as a cricketer under engagement to one of the clubs in England, but his interest in the game is such that he is bound to be seen on the English cricket fields. Firms’ Matches. The annual cricket match between Eing, Harris and Co.. Ltd., and Sargood, Son and Ewen played on Saturday afternoon at Lancaster Park, resulted in a win for Bing, Harris and Co., Ltd., by 57 runs. Bing, Harris and Co., Ltd., made 170 (W. Leonard-51 retired, A. E. Besley 60 retired, Lindley 19). Sargood, Son and Ewen made 113 (Shackell 30. Jarvis 16, E. Bates 11, J. Gatehouse 15 not out). A. E. Besley and O. Kelson bowled best for Bing, Harris and Co., Ltd., and Griffiths and Smart bowled best for Sargood, Son and Ewen. The following players will represent Dominion Motors, Ltd., in their annual match against Blackwell Motors, Ltd., at Hagley Park oval on Saturday, April 14, play to start at 1.45 p.m.:—T. Kennedy, T. Nelson retained the Newman Shield by 13 runs. Requiring 255 runs, Marlborough lost five wickets for 83, but a fine fighting finish saw the visitors reach 272 (Rowe 39, O’Sullivan not out 99).
