BREAKING AND ENTERING.
Young Man Committed for Sentence. Arthur Albert King, a young married man, of Brougham Street, Sydenham, was this morning committed for sentence on a charge of breaking and entering the shop of Edward Silver Sharp- , lin, 23, Sea View Road, New Brighton, and committing theft. The case was heard before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M. Edward Silver Sharplin, fishmonger, of 23, Sea View Road, New Brighton, said that when he went to the shop the morning following November 9 he found the back door open and a pane of glass broken from a back window. The gas-meter had been broken open and the sum of £4 had been taken. He knew the accused, who had been in the shop on several occasions. Since the incident the accused had not been in the shop. Detective Herron gave evidence of having interviewed the accused, who
had admitted the crime, stating that he was hard-up and that his wife was in delicate health. King was on relief work. King, who was represented by kr Russell, pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence. Bail was allowed in the sum of £SO, with one surety of £SO.
