NELSON, April 6. Playing for the Newman Shield, Nelson, in their first innings, made 289 (A. Newman 157, Neale 65, Freeman. 20). Creswell took six wickets for 86 runs. Marlborough, the challengers, in their first innings have six widkets down for 103 runs (Hastilow 24, O’Sullivan 24).
