THE SUNLIGHT LEAGUE.

Second Health Camp to be Held. Dr D. I. Currie presided at the monthly meeting 1 of the Sunlight League. A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Sir Arthur Dobson, and a tribute paid to his valuable work as member of the council, when, as chairman of the Sunlight League Tramping Committee, he inaugurated the Youth Hostel Association of New Zealand. It was decided to hold a second children’s health camp, in addition to the Okains Bay health camp. Dr L. AverilT, chairman of the Health Camp Committee, was complimented upon the honour conferred by his New York invitation. Dr Averill applied for six months’ leave of absence. On Friday, April 11, the Sunlight League Tramping Club is to meet at Mr C. M’Kellar's office, 90, Hereford Street, at 5 p.m., when the Tramping Club Committee will be elected, and walks for the coming year planned. It was hoped that some member would write a Sunlight League tramping song. Tramping choruses are to be sung at the Youth Hostel Association’s annual meeting, to be held in the latter half of May. It was hoped that the Sunlight League Tramping Club would compete. The report sent by Miss M. Roberts, honorary secretary of the Ashburton branch of the Sunlight League, was most satisfactory. The branch had been reorganised and had a greatly increased membership. Its annual meeting was fixed for Tuesday, and Mrs Cracroft Wilson, a member of the council, had been invited to speak. The plan of the Ashburton branch to meet on the first Monday of each month, in order to listen to the Sunlight League radio talk at 7.15 p.m., and to discuss it afterwards and enact business, was much commended. Professor Shelley’s, talk this month over the air had been excellent. On -the first Monday of May, Mr F. Milner, C.M.G., is to speak upon " Nature Study and School Life.” Mrs Herbert Gresham reported satisfactory progress of the Dental Committee.
