TO-DAY’S WEDDING.
Celebrated at St. John’s Church. At St John's Church, Latimer Square, the wedding took place this afternoon of Mabel Vera, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. L. Lilburn, Papanui, to William Lewis, only son of Mr and Mrs L. Kingsland, Papanui. The Rev J. T. M’Willlam performed the ceremony. Pearl satin beaute made on Grecian lines fashioned the gown of the bride, who was given away by her cousin, Mr Cecil Hearn. The skirt was made to form a train at the back, and a diamante buckle was placed at the neck. Leg of mutton sleeves gave an unusual touch. Her hand-embroidered tulle veil was held in place ■with a circlet of orange blossom, and white and apricot shaded flowers composed her bouquet She was attended by one bridesmaid and a flower girl. Miss Kathleen Griffiths, the bridesmaid, was in an apricot organdie frock cut on the cross. The hemline was weighted with frills, and frilled sleeves relieved the severity of the bodice. A cap of organdie and silver leaves was worn, and her bouquet was of autumn tinted flowers. Ora Campbell, the flower girl, wore an Early Victorian frock of blue crepe de chine embroidered in apricot. The short sleeves were fully puffed, and the skirt fell to the feet. She wore a wreath of flowers to match her frock and carried a basket of autumn tinted flowers. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s aunt. Mrs S. Hearn, in Bealey Avenue Mrs Hearn received her guests in a black crepe de chine frock with an apricot yoke. She were a small black hat and earned an autumn tinted bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother w r as in a navy costume and a hst to match. For travelling, the bride was weaving an apricot crepe de chine frock patterned in black, and a black diagonal cloth coat and a black hat.
