(Received February 19. 10 55 a.m.) SYDNEY, February 19 Violent storms in the Riverina dis- j trict during the week-end caused dam- i age estimated at thousands cf pounds j and resulted ir. extensive flooding j Wagga is inundated, and the roads! in the Coolamon and Ganmain dis- : tricts are impassable. Terrific thunderstorms and awe-in- i spiring lightning raged over the dis- ! trict, putting the telegraph and tele- • phone services out of action. All creeks i are at a high level and the floods are i likely to extend. The body cf water which rushed ; down the hills at Wagga was so great j that the town was flooded in less than an hour. Business concerns suffered extensively, and the water is three feet deep in some streets.
