TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.
Mr and Mrs A. Burton, Christchurch, are guests at the Empire. Mrs W. R. Stewart and Miss Stewart, Dunedin, are staying at the Empire. Mrs Noel Scaife, Wanaka, is visiting Wellington. Mrs H. Ewen-Davis, London, is staying at the Grosvenor. Mr and Mrs H. J. Wardell, Oamaru, are guests at the Empire. Mr and Mrs J. Trerise have returned home to Gill’s Island, Mackenzie Country after spending a holiday in Timaru. Mr and Mrs Robert B. Gibbons and Miss Craig, Wellington, are staying at the Grosvenor. Miss Nell Buckley, Christchurch, who has been visiting friends in Waimate, has returned north. Mr and Mrs F. G. Kerr, Ardgour, Sealy Street, have returned from a visit to Flanmer Springs. Miss A. M. S. Candy, Christchurch, and Miss Marion Reese, Christchurch, are guests at the Grand. Mrs Shelton, Gore, who has been staying with Mrs F. Harold, Hassell Street, has left for Christchurch. Miss Beryl Bond, Christchurch, is the guest of Miss Elworthy, Pareora Cottage, LeCren’s Terrace. Mrs John Smith and Miss Smith, Tapanui, are staying at Kelso, Sarah Street. Miss Olive Barron, Wellington, who has been staying with Mrs Burns, Church Street, at Peel Forest, has left for Christchurch. Dr and Mrs George Kingston, Grey Road, Timaru, who are at present in England, will shortly leave on return to New Zealand. They will visit Mrs Kingston’s brother, who resides at Colombo, and will then stay with relatives in Australia before coming to the Dominion.
