Mrs M- T. Lawlor, Bishop Street, has left to spend some weeks in Dunedin and South Canterbury. Miss Blanche Sanders, Worcester Street West, returned on Saturday from a visit to Wellington. Mrs C. 11. Tewsley, who has been visiting Christchurch and Wellington, has returned to her home in Auckland. Mrs J. Prestidge, Coalgate, is visiting Mrs J. F. Holmes, Main South Road, Upper Riccarton. Miss Mollie Hansen, Opawa, who has been staying with friends in Invercargill, has returned to Chrrsthchurch. Mr and Mrs J. W. Fair. Timaru, arrives to-day on a visit to Christchurch, and are staying at Warwick House. Mr and Mrs John Montgomery, “ Ilolmbrook,” Fendalton, will leave Christchurch early in June on a trip to Great Britain. Mrs W. Willes, who has been staying with her brother, Sir Heaton Rhodes, Otahuna, returned to Warwick House to-day. Mr and Mrs Charles Gordon, Hawke's Bay, will arrive in Christchurch tomorrow morning. They will stay at Warwick House. Mrs Arnold Tait, Auckland, who has been staying with her father, Mr G. T. Booth, Papanui Road, will return north on Thursday. Miss Marjorie Irwin, who has been • staying with her aunt, Mrs J. J. W. Pollard, Yarrow Street, Invercargill,* returned to Christchurch on Saturday. Miss A. Barclay, who arrived at Wellington by the Rangitiki last week, is now the guest of her sister, Mrs W. Brock, Merivale. Mrs C. Schneider, Wellington, who has been visiting Mrs W. H. Clark, Bealey Avenue, will return home early this week. Miss Helen Kelly, Neutral Bay, Sydney, formerly of Christchurch, is staying with her sister, Mrs F. B. Smyth, Hills Road. Sister D. M. Christian has returned to Geraldine to resume lectures under the auspices of the New’ Zealand Red Cross Society. Mrs Edward Nicoll, Christchurch, and Mrs John Nicoll, Ashburton, motored to Invercargill last week. They are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. E. Hazlett, Filleul Street. Mrs H. W. Royds, Invercargill, will attend the Plunket Conference in Dunedin this week and later, accompanied by her daughter, will visit Timaru and Christchurch. Miss Madge Mathews, The Terrace, Wellington, w’ho has been spending a few days in Christchurch upon her return from a holiday at Gore, will leave for the north to-morrow evening. Mrs C. J. Treleaven, St Andrew’s Square, with Mr and Mrs A. B. Edwards and Miss Stella Edwards, Riccarton, are spending a holiday at Cockle Cove, Marlborough Sounds. Miss Geraldine Collyns, Woodbury, who has been visiting friends in Christchurch, will leave to-day to be the guest of her aunt, Mrs W. Trolove, The Shades, Marlborough. Mr and Mrs Arthur Elworthy, Holme Station, Timaru, left Christchurch on Saturday en route for Russell, where they intend to go deep-sea fishing. Accompanied by their son, Lieutenant John Elworthy, they will later visit Tauranga. Mr and Mrs A. B. Lane, Wellington, who have been attending the Press Conference at Hanmer Springs, are now the guests of Mr and Mrs W. M’Kenzie, Cashmere Hills. They will go on Wednesday to Ashburton for the LaneAnderson wedding. Mr Lane will return to Wellington on Wednesday night, and Mrs Lane will stay in Christchurch for several days.

Blundell, Te Kuiti. Miss Peggy Loughnan, Lower liutt, is visiting her grandfather, Mr 11. O. Devenish Meares, Park Terrace. * Mrs S. L. Partridge, Fendalton, will leave next week to visit her daughter, Mrs W. L. Travers, Wellington. Mrs Gowing, Chester Street, west, has returned to town from her seaside cottage at Leithfield beach. Mrs B. Stark) r , Gisborne, is visiting New Zealand and is at present the guest of Mrs J. B. Starky, Brackenfield, North Canterbury. Mrs C. FI. Gosset and , Miss C. Gosset, Chester Street, west, have left for a holiday at Picton and Anikiwa, Queen Charlotte Sound. Miss Engledue, England, has arrived in Christchurch, and is visiting Mrs George Helmore, “ Millbrook,” Fendalton. Mr and Mrs Robert Sinclair, Merivale Lane, returned home on Saturday from a holiday spent at Te Mahia, Kinepuru Sound. Dr and Mrs A. FI. Tovey, Hanmer Springs, arrived in Christchurch to-day and are staying at The Lodge, Hereford Street, for a week. Mrs C. J. Thornton, Whanora Terrace, Cashmere Hills, who went to Wellington to see her son, Whitmore, off to Sydney by the Wanganella last Friday., is at present staying in Masterton. Mr and Mrs Harold Tovey, Sussex, England,' who arrived in New Zealand a few weeks ago, who are at present the guests of Mrs Charles Teschemaker, Avondale and Marlborough, will arrive in Christchurch this week. Miss Dorothy Raymond, Pleasant Point, who has been visiting England, returned to the South Island on Saturday, accompanied by her mother, Mrs William Raymond, who went to Wellington to meet her. Mrs Herbert Acton-Adams, Tipapa, who is the president of the ScargillMotunau sub-branch of the Plunket Society, will visit Dunedin for the special Plunket conference, which opens there on Thursday. Mr and Mrs Cracroft Ronalds, Sydney, who have been spending some weeks in Christchurch, will return to Sydney in about a fortnight’s time. At present they are staying with Mr Ronalds’** parents, Mr and Mrs Guy Ronalds, Lyttelton. Mrs Goldberg, wife of Mr Frank Goldberg, of Sydney, governing director of Goldberg Advertising Agency, Ltd., returned to Christchurch yesterday from Hanmer Springs. She will join her two daughters, Inez and Cara, in Wellington shortly, and the three of them will then set out on a two months’ tour of the Dominion.
