WEDDINGS.

Cornflower Blue Bridal Gown. WILSON —LUNEY. The wedding of Irene Elizabeth (Fairy), eldest daughter of Mr and the late Mrs C. Luney, Westminster Street, to George Earl, only son of Mr and Mrs W. E. Wilson, Fitzgerald Avenue, took place on Thursday evening at the Tennyson Street Congregational Church. Pastor G. Coley officiated and the wedding music was played by the bridegroom’s father. The church was prettily decorated with blue and pink hvdrangeas bv friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an attractive gown of cornflower blue celanese silk, gracefully flared to ground length. The sleeves, fully puffed at the top, were finished with tight cuffs to the wrists, the bodice being trimmed with pin-tucks and tiny bows. Her hat of beige baku straw was banded with velvet ribbon to match her frock, and she carried an arm bouquet of apricot tinted roses. She was ‘attended by her sister, Miss Patty Luney, who wore a dainty frock of blush pink floral silk organdie mounted over a deeper shade of satin. The frock, falling in soft , flares to ankle length, had a becoming boat-shaped shoulder yoke with short puffed sleeves. A charming hat of lacy straw and silk mesh gloves to match completed her toilette and she carried a ruched muff with a spray of roses. Mr W. Flett, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe by her niece, Lois Luney. The reception was held at the home of the bride. Mrs Grieve, of Timaru. aunt of the bride, who received the guests, wore a frock of navy floral romaine with a beige Y’estee and navy hat to tone. She carried a posy of red and cream roses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue coat and hat to match and she carried a posy of roses.

When Mr and Mrs Wilson left on their wedding tour the bride was wearing a smart ensemble suit of nigger bro-wn san-crepe, with lighter tones of fawn and tangerine, and felt hat to tone. She carried a brown tweed coat.
