Bidding was fairly free at the first call of the week, and six sales were recorded before backers left the room. Values generally showed little alteration from the week-end quotations. In the banking section. Unions were in good demand, and buyers moved up to £lO 2s. Colonial Sugars were steady with buyers at £63. and holders asking 15s more. Farmers’ Trading Company shares were the subject of keen inquiry, with offers to buy ordinarv shares at 4s 10d, but sellers asked 5s 6d. POULTRY AND EGGS. The Canterbury Co-op. Poultry Producers, Ltd., report that for their Wednesday’s and Friday’s sales, exceptionally heavy consignments of all classes of poultry came forward. Boilers predominated, due to culling operations being in full swing. Competition for the various pens was keen, and all lines were disposed of at satisfactory figures Boilers—Medium to light realised up to 3s 9d per pair. Heavy, were in fair supply and realised up to 4s 9d per pair. Chicken—Heavy, in short supplv, and realised up to 10s per pair. Medium were in fair supply and realised up to <s 6d per pair. Eight, were in good supply, .and realised up to 5s per pair Turkeys are realising Is per lb. The bidding for ducks and ducklings and goslings is weak, and the supply is exceeding the demand.
