REPERTORY SOCIETY.

To-night, in the Radiant Hall, the Repertory Society will begin its 1934 programme with a presentation of *’Captain Banner.” an historical drama of Danish setting by George R. Preedy. The play is based on history, dealing with the intrigue surrounding the Queen of Denmark following the disclosure of her apparent infidelity to the King. The play Itself is fictitious, and is full of that vigorousness peculiar to George Preedy. better known as Marjorie Bowen, in her many historical novels. The present cast is a strong one, headed by Professor Shelley as Captain Banner, the governor of the prison fortress to which the Queen (Mrs Valerie Elaslam) has been banished pending her trial. Other parts are taken' by Dr Robinson E. Hall as Baron Moide, Mr C E. Beeby as Pastor Oder, Mrs Audrey Cotterill as Baroness Bernstorf, Miss Molly Fowler as Katrine, and Mr Harold Shaw as Sergeant Ericsson. The scenery has been specially constructed for the play, the production of which is in the hands of Professor Shelley. This play will be shown for three nights, beginning to-night. Bookings are already excellent. They are available at the society’s rooms, 15, Bedford Row.
